Commemorates Composer's 85th Birthday With New Show
Everybody Says Don't at Chicago's Davenport's In March

Called "a cabaret icon" by NBC Chicago, After Dark Award-winning vocalist Joan Curto performs her new tribute show Joan Curto Sings Sondheim- everybody says don't, that will be marking the 85th birthday of celebrated composer Stephen Sondheim (March 23, 1925). The show will celebrate the musical and lyrical genius of Sondheim and his contributions to American musical theater. Praised by the Chicago Tribune's noted jazz critic Howard Reich as "a seasoned interpreter who makes the most of every note." Joan will offer audiences a glimpse into the extensive catalogue of Sondheim. The show will feature music from many of his shows including: Company, Follies, Into the Woods, A Little Night Music, Merrily We Roll Along and more.

One of Chicago's top cabaret performers, Curto will be joined by other well-known Chicago musicians, Beckie Menzie on piano, and Jim Cox on bass. This special event takes place at Davenport's, 1383 North Milwaukee, Avenue, Chicago, every Saturday in March (7, 14, 21 & 28th) at 8pm. There is a $22 cover charge and two drink minimum.
